From October 19th to 21st, recommended by the Anhui Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Hefei Emergency Association, the Hefei Institute of Public Safety Research, Tsinghua University (THHI), in collaboration with Beijing GS Technology Co., Ltd (GSAFETY), as a representative unit of the "Belt and Road Initiative · Chinese Brand", jointly attended the 2023 Indonesia International EMERGENCY DISASTER REDUCTION & RESCUE EXPO (EDRR Indonesia) held in Jakarta. Dr. Du Peng, Vice General Manager of GSAFETY, led the Asian team to participate in the expo, while Mr. Fan Guanbing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Hefei Institute of Public Safety Research, Tsinghua University, led the experts from Hefei Institute to attend the expo.

The EDRR International Emergency Disaster Reduction and Rescue Expo, established in 2020, is jointly organized by the Emergency Management Departments of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces (Three provinces and one city), along with Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The expo aims to promote the coordinated development of regional emergency management and facilitate exchanges and cooperation in emergency management, both domestically and internationally. This 2023 expo marks the inaugural venture of EDRR abroad, signifying Indonesia's first hosting of a large-scale international exhibition in the emergency industry. The event has received robust official support from the National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB), the Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency (BASARNAS), and the Indonesian National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas).
On the morning of the 19th, Mr. Fan Guanbing was invited to participate in the opening ceremony. Distinguished leaders from the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, the Embassy of Indonesia in China, and relevant Indonesian disaster reduction and mitigation departments also visited the exhibition stand of the Hefei Institute and engaged in extensive exchanges with team members.

The distinctive industry characteristics and prominent scientific research advantages of the Tsinghua GSAFETY team have garnered widespread attention from the organizing committee, exhibitors, and attendees. On the first day of the exhibition, several team members were invited to deliver keynote speeches or share special topics, adding remarkable highlights to the event. Among them, Fan Guanbing attended the "China-Indonesia Economic and Trade Investment Forum" roundtable discussion, where he shared insights on balancing the market supply and demand for urban lifeline safety through digital business models, sparking discussions and resonating with the attendees. Du Peng was invited to deliver the opening remarks for the "Emergency Safety Enterprise Technology Seminar," engaging in lively interactions and exchange with numerous entrepreneurs from China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the UK, and France.

The following day, Du Peng was invited to deliver a special speech at the International Trade Match Up Conference, where he introduced the development history, scientific research capabilities, and overseas successful cases and experience of the research institute and GSAFETY. This attracted numerous companies and organizations, fostering valuable exchanges. Dr. Zhang Xiaole, Executive Director of the International Exchange Center at the Hefei Institute, attended the "Emergency Risk & Response Management - key Factors" session along with experts from the Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency, the Indonesian National Police, the Indonesian National Agency for Disaster Management, and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Indonesia. Dr. Zhang delivered a thematic report on "Urban Risk Monitoring and Early Warning."

The Tsinghua-GSAFETY exhibition stand, strategically positioned within the core area of "China-Indonesia Belt and Road Cooperation," attracted wide attention from exhibitors, media, and visitors. Notable figures including Djauhari Oratmangun, Ambassador of Indonesia to China, Deputy Director of the Indonesian Disaster Rescue Agency, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, along with other officials, visited the exhibition stand to explore relevant technologies and learn from successful domestic and international cases. Representatives from Indonesia's top academic institution, the University of Indonesia, also made a special visit to the team for dedicated discussions.
This exhibition marked a resounding success, showcasing the strength and charm of public safety technology originating from Tsinghua on the Asian stage. It further enhanced GSAFETY's international reputation, allowing Tsinghua's solutions and Chinese brands to shine brightly on the international stage.
